We have several different programs that we promote. These are some that we sponsor: Boys State, Oratorical Contest, Scholarships, Scouting and Youth Programs

Volunteer Services
- VA Volunteer Services. The American Legion has supported and actively participated in the Department of Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service (VAVS) program since it began in 1946.
- Adopt a National Guard or Reserve Unit. Posts throughout the country are encouraged to connect with local National Guard and reserve units to learn about the many ways volunteers can ...
- Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is working with The American Legion to identify opportunities for departments, districts and posts to assist in building or supporting military or veterans' housing ...
- Honor Flight. Honor Flight helps transport veterans willing and able to visit memorials in Washington, D.C. American Legion volunteers help accompany the veterans to and from the memorials. Our teams of volunteers to make a real difference. Join us and see what can be accomplished when you get an impassioned team to focus on change.

Community Connections
The American Legion recognizes that the community is an important part of our American way of life. Legion Posts have, for many years, made American communities better places in which to live.
Community service projects often place special emphasis on the organization of safety-first campaigns, the elimination of fire hazards, establishment of playgrounds and the erection of living memorials.
More than 200 different types of projects, designed for the betterment of communities, are sponsored by more than 14,000 Posts each year.
Realizing that every community is in need of improvements, many American Legion Posts take a leadership role in community bettterment.
